Serves: 2-3 dozen cookies, depending on size

Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 ½ cup flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp salt (eliminate if using salted butter)

  • 1 ½ cup chocolate chips

  • 2 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars with electric mixer until creamy

  2. Add eggs and vanilla

  3. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon & salt*

  4. Add chocolate chips

  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets

  6. Bake for 4 minutes, rotate pan in oven, and then for another 4 minutes (8-10 minutes total)-- recommend closer to to 8 minutes than 10 if you like cookies to be chewy

  7. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet
